"Qualquer que seja o seu objeto de estudo, o intelecto, para fazer as suas observações, deve imobilizá-lo e, por vezes, até matá-lo para o dissecar. Muitas vezes, a ciência renuncia ao estudo daquilo que está vivo para se concentrar naquilo que está imóvel, morto, porque o que está vivo mexe-se, varia constantemente, e o intelecto não consegue captá-lo. Portanto, não é de admirar que o mundo espiritual e o mundo divino, que estão em perpétuo movimento e são animados por vibrações da maior intensidade, escapem à investigação dos homens de saber.
Para ser preciso, devo dizer “cientistas”. Os investigadores limitaram-se à observação da matéria física sem se aperceberem de que desse modo iriam limitar-se e limitar todos aqueles que sofreriam a sua influência e seguiriam o seu exemplo. Pois bem, esse exemplo é catastrófico, pois impele os humanos a só se debruçarem sobre o aspeto mais material, mais superficial, das coisas, em vez de se interessarem por tudo o que é subtil, vivo, vibrante: o mundo do espírito."
